It resides in your macOS menu bar, letting you monitor rolling 5-hour session limits and weekly utilization quotas across multiple Anthropic Claude.ai accounts simultaneously — plus your local Antigravity usage.
Grab the latest signed disk image from the Releases page:
Download BurnTracker-<version>.dmg (e.g. BurnTracker-2.2.0.dmg).
Open the .dmg and drag BurnTracker into your Applications folder.
On first launch, macOS blocks the app — it is signed to run locally rather than notarized with a paid Apple Developer certificate, so Gatekeeper quarantines the download. Clear the flag once:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/BurnTracker.app
Then open it normally. Prefer not to use the terminal? After the blocked launch, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway.
Why not right-click → Open? That bypass was removed in macOS 15 (Sequoia), which is the minimum BurnTracker supports. The warning there is a “BurnTracker” Not Opened dialog offering only Move to Trash or Done, so use one of the two routes above instead.
Requires macOS 15.0 (Sequoia) or newer. Prefer to build it yourself? See Building & Running.
There's also a landing page at https://aminurislam.me/burn-tracker/ with the feature tour and a direct download.
MenuBarExtra window that lives in the top status bar with no Dock icon. Clicking the icon toggles the compact widget; a power button in the header quits the app.sessionKey directly from the settings list — changing the key automatically re-validates the account against Anthropic.~/.claude data changes.~/.claude/tracker-settings.json and are transmitted only to Anthropic's endpoints.sessionKey 🔑To sync live usage metrics, you'll need the sessionKey cookie value for each account:
https://claude.ai.sessionKey and copy its entire value (starting with sk-ant-sid02-...).[⚙] in the widget header, type a label (e.g. Personal), paste the key, and click Add Account.Key expired?
sessionKeycookies are rotated periodically by Anthropic. When an account shows a Sync Failed warning, open the settings panel, click Edit on that account, and paste a fresh key — there's no need to remove and re-add it.
Clone the repository, then open the project and run it (⌘R):
open BurnTracker.xcodeproj
The app mounts its monochrome glyph in the status bar. It runs as a menu-bar accessory with no Dock icon; quit it via the power button in the widget header.
xcodebuild -project BurnTracker.xcodeproj -scheme BurnTracker -configuration Release -destination 'platform=macOS' build
The built BurnTracker.app is placed in Xcode's DerivedData Build/Products/Release/ directory.
Note: the app is ad-hoc signed to run locally, without a paid Apple Developer certificate, so a distributed build is quarantined by Gatekeeper. A build you compile yourself is not — the quarantine flag comes from the browser that downloaded the
.dmg, so running straight out of DerivedData needs no extra step. To un-quarantine a downloaded copy:xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/BurnTracker.app.
The Xcode project uses a file-system-synchronized group, so any file added under BurnTracker/ is compiled automatically — no project.pbxproj edits needed.
