The Olive Branch network is a staking protocol on Base that turns onchain participation into continuous nonprofit funding. Users stake OBN into nonprofit-specific pools, earn yield, and automatically direct a portion of every reward claim to the nonprofit pool they chose. No separate donation. No manual transfer. No offchain accounting.

Users stake OBN into nonprofit-specific pools, earn yield, and automatically direct a portion of every reward claim to the nonprofit pool they chose. No separate donation. No manual transfer. No offchain accounting.
Every claim creates a transparent onchain contribution event: the user earns, the nonprofit receives funding, and the network records that participation as part of OBN's broader Proof-of-Contribution model.
OBN is not only a staking app. It is a contribution layer for crypto — a system where earning and contributing become one action.
Stake. Earn. Contribute. Prove it onchain.
Traditional staking proves participation by locking capital and earning rewards. OBN expands that idea through Proof-of-Contribution: participation is measured not only by the tokens users stake, but by the value their activity helps route toward real-world causes.
When users stake in a nonprofit pool, their rewards continuously generate funding for that nonprofit. Over time, each user builds a transparent history of contribution across the causes they support.
The result is a self-sustaining funding model: as participation grows, so does the impact. Nonprofits receive passive, verifiable income tied to community support rather than traditional fundraising cycles. Stakers earn yield without separating their financial activity from the causes they care about.
Stake once. Fund continuously.
When you stake OBN in a nonprofit pool, rewards accrue over time and are minted when a claim, deposit, or withdrawal settles them:
| Recipient | Share | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| You | 88% | Your yield for participating |
| Nonprofit | 10% | Direct funding to the selected nonprofit wallet |
| ExtendOliveBranch | 1% | Accumulates throughout the year; AnnualGovernance votes each cycle which approved nonprofit receives the cycle's fixed allocation |
| TheOffering | 1% | Accumulates throughout the year; AnnualGovernance votes each cycle to burn the balance or donate it to ExtendOliveBranch |
This is not a traditional donation flow. It is a programmable funding mechanism.
Your stake generates rewards. The nonprofit receives funding. The protocol records contribution onchain. Everyone can verify the flow.
Stakers can opt in on-chain to sponsored monthly autoclaim for all current and future pools held by their wallet. The automation account batches pools with positive claimable user rewards, up to 32 pools per transaction, and pays gas through the configured paymaster. The contract permits one successful automatic claim per pool per UTC calendar month. Rewards follow the same 88% / 10% / 1% / 1% split and go to the same recipients as manual claims. Users can disable consent at any time; deposits, withdrawals, and manual claims remain available. Autoclaim does not transfer principal, compound rewards, or change voting power.
Proof-of-Contribution is the identity layer of OBN.
In most crypto systems, users are recognized for ownership, trading volume, speculation, or governance power. OBN introduces a different signal: how much value a user helps direct toward nonprofit causes through protocol participation.
Each claim routes rewards according to the fixed protocol split. The nonprofit allocation is minted directly to the selected pool's charity wallet, creating transparent and attributable contribution data.
Over time, OBN can use this data to power:
Proof-of-Contribution makes OBN more than a yield protocol. It makes OBN a public-good participation network.
The 300M OBN Nonprofit Seed Reserve funds 1M OBN per nonprofit, permanently staked in its pool. This supports 300 reserve-funded seeds. Community-funded seeding can support further onboarding; reserve capacity is not a cap on the number of nonprofits. Pool admission remains controlled by the multisig through the Timelock.
This bootstrap provides each nonprofit:
The bootstrap is not a grant. It is a permanent stake. The nonprofit benefits from the rewards generated by that position while the principal remains locked at the contract level.
OBN's two 1% emission streams accumulate throughout each cycle and are resolved by community governance votes.
TheOffering receives 1% of all staking emissions. Each annual cycle, stakers vote on one outcome:
ExtendOliveBranch receives 1% of all staking emissions, plus any donation from TheOffering when stakers vote Give. Stakers choose which approved nonprofit receives the cycle's fixed allocation; receipts after the cycle starts remain for the next cycle.
Both votes run through AnnualGovernance, an on-chain governance contract owned by the Timelock. Since 7 October 2026 it runs the AnnualGovernanceV2 implementation:
executeCurrentCycle(); anyone can call it, for example with execute_cycle.js.See the governance design for configuration timing and trust assumptions.
Both voting phases and their allocations are recorded on-chain.
OBN uses a 10-year emission schedule that rewards early participation while reducing issuance over time:
| Years | APY |
|---|---|
| 1-2 | 10% |
| 3-4 | 7.5% |
| 5-6 | 5% |
| 7-8 | 2.5% |
| 9-10 | 1.25% |
Controlled, predictable inflation is inspired by Bitcoin's halving logic. Emissions decline on a fixed curve, rewarding early participants while supporting long-term sustainability.
Because rewards are split automatically, every emission phase supports three outcomes at once:
For stakers: Your capital works for you and for the causes you care about. You do not have to choose between earning yield and supporting nonprofits.
For nonprofits: OBN creates passive, verifiable funding that scales with community participation. The model reduces dependence on one-time fundraising campaigns and provides each pool a transparent funding stream.
For crypto: OBN proves that DeFi can do more than move value between traders. It can route value toward real-world organizations while preserving user incentives.
For the public good: Proof-of-Contribution creates a new kind of onchain reputation — one based on participation, support, and measurable contribution.
The Nonprofit Seed Reserve has a total allocation of 300M OBN, with 50M OBN held separately for protocol needs. Treasury and airdrop holdings were consolidated into the seed allocation. At that point, 11M OBN had already funded 11 nonprofit seeds, leaving 289M OBN for 289 additional seeds at 1M OBN each.
The original initializer minted 40% for liquidity, 30% for airdrops, 10% for the charity allocation, 10% for treasury and 10% for team vesting. Those are historical genesis percentages, not today's unspent reserve allocations. The consolidation moved existing tokens; it did not mint new tokens or change the initializer.

Always interact with the staking proxy; implementation addresses identify the deployed code, not a separate staking destination.
