Dress up the cutest cartoon critters!
App design by Sophia and Sabrina Pernal · 2026
Tiny Tailors is a dress-up web app for kids. You pick a critter, then mix and match clothes, colors, fabric patterns, pets, scenes and magic effects. All the art is drawn in code (SVG), so every outfit fits every critter.

Features
Surprise me! builds a random outfit with a matching color story. Lock any drawer to keep it when you shuffle.
Poses & moods: 11 poses (wave, hooray, dab, ballerina…) where sleeves and held items follow the arms, 10 one-tap moods, and a Dance! button with music.
Two colors per item: pick a main color and a trim color (collars, cuffs, bows, and the second color in fabric patterns), or mix any color with the color mixer.
Fabric studio: draw an 8×8 tile and it repeats across clothes. Empty squares take the clothing color, so one fabric works in every color.
Stitches & unlockables: earn stitches and spend them on 52 locked goodies in four rarity tiers (Common, Rare, Super rare, Legendary, from 40 to 335 stitches): 6 rare critters (capybara, narwhal, alpaca…), gold and cosmic colors, galaxy and glitter fabrics, gowns, wings, hats, pets, scenes, effects and poses.
Style challenges with a real judge: 32 challenges. Every item has theme tags, and each challenge is a set of rules (enough beach items? the right scene? one color head to toe? three patterns?). The judge scores each rule, gives 1 to 5 stars and tells you exactly what to add.
Daily challenge: the same challenge for everyone each day, double stitches and a streak bonus.
No spamming for stitches: a challenge only pays with 3 stars or more (a score of 55+), only once a day for each challenge, and regular challenges pay at most 45 stitches a day.
Games (the 🎮 button): sixteen mini-games starring your own critter.
Copycat Closet: memorize an outfit, then rebuild it from four choices per piece (the last round adds a color trick).
Customer Rush: critter customers ask for a look ("Ready for a camping trip!"). Dress them before the timer runs out; the style judge scores each one. Love a customer? Name them and save them to your closet.
Runway Rhythm: pick one of 11 songs (Easy, Medium or Tricky), then tap Wave, Hooray!, Ta-da! or Jump! as the stars hit the line. Each song is built from its own star chart, so every star plays its note right on the beat.
Critter Catch: catch falling buttons, spools and stars, and dodge the scissors.
Hide & Seek: find your critter in a crowd of look-alikes. Later levels change just one piece, or just a color.
Memory Match: flip cards to match pairs of hats, pets, critters and more (12 or 16 cards).
Fabric Match: swap fabric swatches to line up 3 in a row; 4 in a row makes a spool that clears a whole row. 20 moves.
Ideas from players
Players can tap Menu → Suggest an idea to send an idea for a critter, clothes, a pet, a scene or a challenge.
Each idea arrives as a GitHub Issue in this repo, labeled suggestion. GitHub emails you about new issues
(turn this on with Watch → All activity on the repo page).
To approve an idea: add the approved label to the issue.
To decline: close the issue.
To build approved ideas: ask Claude to "build the approved Tiny Tailors suggestions". Claude follows CLAUDE.md,
adds the items, pushes the update, then labels each issue built and closes it.
No names, emails or accounts are collected. Email addresses, phone numbers and links are removed automatically.
One-time setup
On GitHub: Settings → Developer settings → Personal access tokens → Fine-grained tokens → Generate new token.
Under Repository access, choose Only select repositories → TinyTailors. Under Permissions → Repository permissions → Issues, choose Read and write. Copy the token.
On Vercel: open the project, go to Settings → Environment Variables, add GITHUB_TOKEN with that token, and save.
Redeploy (Deployments → ⋯ → Redeploy). The form works from then on.
Put it on GitHub and Vercel
No build step and no installs. It's plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
1. GitHub
Go to github.com/new and create a repository called tiny-tailors.
Click uploading an existing file, drag in everything inside this folder (index.html, style.css, the js folder, and the rest), then click Commit changes.
Or from a terminal:
cd tiny-tailors
git init
git add .
git commit -m "Tiny Tailors"
git branch -M main
git remote add origin https://github.com/YOUR-NAME/tiny-tailors.git
git push -u origin main
Leave Framework Preset as Other. Leave the build command and output directory empty.
Click Deploy. You get a link like tiny-tailors.vercel.app.
Every time you push a change to GitHub, Vercel updates the site on its own.
Try it on your computer
Just double-click index.html. Or run a tiny server:

Adding a new item
Every item is one line: an id, a name and a drawing function. For example, to add a new hat open js/wardrobe-accessories.js and add to TT.HATS:
Pet Parade: run with your pet pal, jump puddles, flower pots and cones, and grab buttons.
Dress-Up Dash: find each piece of a shown outfit before the timer runs out (it speeds up).
Tailor's Puzzle: slide tiles to put your critter's picture back together (3×3 or 4×4), with Peek and Numbers helpers.
Spot the Difference: two pictures of your critter, five sneaky changes.
Critter Says: watch the poses, then copy them; one more each round.
Sewing Machine: keep your finger on the needle as it sews three patterns.
Bubble Pop Boutique: pop only what the customer asks for ("only hats!", "everything blue!").
Weather Wardrobe: read the forecast, then pick the outfit that fits, fast.
Design Contest: dress your critter for a theme and beat three rival designers; wins go on your trophy shelf.
Game stitches: reward = the bigger of 1 or base × 0.7ⁿ, where base is set by stars (1★ 2, 2★ 4, 3★ 7, 4★ 10, 5★ 12) and n is how many times that same game already paid today. So a 5-star game pays 12, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1… and a different game pays full again. No daily limit on games. (Style challenges, the daily challenge, fashion shows and photos keep their own daily rules.)
Lucky wheel: Rare, Super rare and Legendary items (80+ stitches) can be won on a spinning wheel with 10 spaces: the item, All back! (refunds that spin), Half back, Free spin, and 6 misses, each 1 in 10. A spin costs about 16% of the item's price (15 to 55 stitches); on average spinning still costs a bit more than buying (about 1.2× to 1.4×), so it's a lucky shortcut, not a discount.
Secret codes (Menu → Secret code): type a secret word to win stitches, or one special code that unlocks everything. Each code works once per device. The codes are stored scrambled (SHA-256), so they can't be read from the app's files; the owner keeps the list.
Monthly events (the 🎃 ribbon on the stage, or Town): a new theme every month, each with its own scene, items, event challenges, photo booth stickers and frame, house furniture and an album page. Event items can only be won (4 stars in an event challenge) or bought during their month; you keep them forever and the event comes back next year. Live now: 🎃 Monster Masquerade (October) and 🍂 Cozy Harvest (November). Coming: ❄️ Ice Palace Snow Day, 💗 Sweetheart Bakery, 🌈 Rainbow Lucky Clover, 🌷 Rainy Day Garden Party, 🫖 Fairy Tea Party, 🐚 Beach Bash, 🏕️ Camp Critter, 🚀 Galaxy Explorers, 🎒 School Spirit Week, 🎁 Twinkle Toy Workshop.
Critters with opinions: every critter loves two kinds of things, isn't a fan of one, and has a favorite color. It reacts in a speech bubble as you dress it (a happy jump or a little wiggle). Tap your critter to hear what it likes. Three loved things and nothing it dislikes makes it super happy.
Interactive scenes: tap the scene and it reacts (bubbles under the sea, snow puffs, popping flowers, bats in the pumpkin patch…). Tap your pet for hearts. Every scene hides a tiny friend somewhere: find them all!
Photo booth: before a photo is saved, add stickers and speech bubbles (or type your own words) and pick a frame. Drag stickers around, make them bigger or smaller, or turn them.
Town (the 🏠 button): the monthly event, the tailor shop, the critter house and the sticker album.
Tailor shop career: run your own shop. Customers come in with a wish (and their own likes and dislikes), you dress them, and they pay tips 🪙 and ★ reputation. Spend tips on shop upgrades (style notebook, bigger rack, more drawers, dye station, speedy sewing machine, comfy chairs, window display, golden mirror, shop paint), name your shop, and read your reviews. 5-star looks hang on your wall of fame. Climb 8 ranks from Apprentice to Royal Tailor; each rank needs reputation and a pass (4 stars) on the Royal Inspector's test, and brings harder customers: color wishes 🎨, "no hats please" 🚫, rush orders ⏱️, VIPs 👑, double wishes and superstars. Six regulars (Duchess Pickles, Captain Bao, Professor Fig, Rosie Rumble, Sir Sprout and Princess Nova) each have a 4-chapter story and give a gift for your house at the end.
Critter house: decorate rooms (bedroom, living room and garden free; kitchen, playroom and star loft to unlock) with 50+ pieces of furniture, 8 wallpapers with patterns and 6 floors, then invite your saved critters to move in. Drag anything; tap to paint, flip, resize, bring to front or put away. Critters chat about furniture they love.
Sticker album: about 200 stickers on pages for critters, super happy critters, the wardrobe, games, challenges, scene secrets, the tailor career, the critter house and each monthly event. A full page pays a one-time stitch prize.
Fashion show: pick 2 to 5 saved looks and they strut the runway to a random song, camera flashes and a cheer meter.
Group photo: put 2 to 4 saved critters in one picture.
Share codes: every look turns into a code (and a link like yoursite.vercel.app/#look=TT1-…). Friends paste it to wear the exact look, custom fabrics included.
QR codes: the share window shows a QR code friends can scan with their phone camera to open the app wearing your look ("Show it full screen" puts it next to your critter, or tap QR code in full-screen view). Photos have an "Add a QR code" checkbox (remembered), and paper doll and coloring pages always print one under the look.
Printable paper doll and coloring page: made from the exact look on screen. One letter-size page with your dressed-up look, the critter on a fold-out stand and every piece it wears with fold-over tabs. Print it, save it as a PDF, or save it as a picture.
Search & Faves: search all 400+ items, and star favorites into their own drawer.
Settings: sound, read item names out loud, calm mode (no animations), bigger buttons.
Undo / Redo, name tag with random silly names, photos, closet, drag your pet anywhere.
