Assigning a reading is easy. Knowing whether anyone actually read it is not. Quizzes get skimmed, and “did you do the reading?” gets a nod.
unpack fixes that. Students read the text, then answer a few questions written for that exact passage. They only move on once they've genuinely tried.
How it works
- Pick a reading. Make a class, then paste a link or the text itself. Students join with your class code.
- Students join in seconds. They type that code and their name. No accounts and no passwords.
- Questions that match the text. AI writes a few open-ended questions tied to specific details in the passage, plus one that asks for the student's own take.
- Effort, not perfection. Answers are checked for real effort, not for polish. A struggling reader who tries passes. Non-answers and off-topic answers don't.
- A nudge, not a red X. If an answer falls short, the student gets a specific hint and tries again, up to three times.
- You stay in charge. Students who are still stuck can send you a note. You can accept it, deny it, or give one more try, and you can see every answer they wrote.
