Yank is in early development — we're building in public. Try it, break it, tell us what to fix next.
Yank is a local-first clipboard history manager for Windows, Linux, and macOS. It captures everything you copy, categorizes it automatically, and lets you find it again with either fuzzy search or AI-powered semantic search.
The entire "find → paste" loop takes under five seconds. Semantic search runs on-device out of the box; TypeSafe's Jev re-ranking is an opt-in upgrade if you bring your own API key.
| Problem | Yank's Solution |
|---|---|
| "I know I copied that link but can't find it" | Semantic search — describe what you remember, not what you copied |
| "Clipboard managers are cluttered / slow" | 500ms capture, SQLite+FTS5, keyboard-first UI |
| "I want AI but don't trust cloud with my data" | Default semantic search runs on-device; cloud re-ranking is opt-in |
| "I want AI search that understands meaning" | Local embeddings + keyword search, fused by rank; optionally TypeSafe Jev |
| "I want AI labels but not monthly fees" | Optional Anthropic key — you control your usage and spend |

.deb. The tray icon needs the AppIndicator extension on stock GNOME, and the .deb installs the right integration.yank --palette instead — it toggles the palette through the running app.sudo apt install libfuse2) or use the .deb.Build from source: make build (produces .dmg)
