Privasi
- 100% Client-side — All file processing happens in the browser
- No uploads — The PDFs and images you work on are never uploaded

What does leave the browser, stated plainly:
- Anonymous, typed usage events (which tool, how long an export took, device class) to PDFLokal's
own endpoint, with a random per-browser visitor id. The schema has no field that could carry file
contents.
- Page views and the same kind of tool events to Vercel Web Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads
and Mixpanel. Google Analytics and Google Ads set cookies.
- Session replay: Sentry (1 in 10 sessions, plus any session with an error) and Mixpanel (every
session, ongoing). Text is masked and document pages are blocked from the recording.
- Sentry error reports, whose messages can quote a single character of text you typed.
- Only what you choose to send as feedback: a typed note, a pasted screenshot, or, after a 👎 in the
Edit beta, a crop of one edited line that you see before tapping Kirim.

Limitasi
- Kompres PDF — Only compresses images inside PDFs, not PDF structure itself
- File besar — Files >50MB may be slow on some devices
- PDF kompleks — Some encrypted PDFs or PDFs with special fonts may not work
- Browser lama — Requires a modern browser with ES6+ support
Yang tidak akan kami buat (dan kenapa)
- PDF ↔ Word / Excel — needs a server to do properly, and a server breaks the one promise this
project is built on: your file never leaves your device. Declined permanently, not "coming soon."
- OCR di server — same reason, same answer.
OCR in the browser is a different thing, and it is live — it runs locally (Tesseract, WASM),
nothing uploaded, and the engine only downloads when you ask for it. Open a scanned page, tap Edit,
and you can tap a word and replace it.

PDFLokal is open source under AGPL-3.0.
Allowed:
- Learning and education
- Self-hosting for internal/personal use
- Contributing improvements back
Commercial derivatives or rebranding:
- Must attribute PDFLokal clearly
- Link to original repo: github.com/ojanlubis/pdflokal
- Modified source code must remain open source (AGPL-3.0 requirement)
- Web services running modified versions must provide source code access
