Free app for macOS and Windows that shows synced lyrics for the song playing on Spotify (or YouTube Music, on Windows), floating over any window.

Development
Requires Node 22 and stable Rust.
npm ci
npm run tauri dev # runs the app in dev mode
npm run tauri build # builds the installers in src-tauri/target/release/bundle
Releases are produced by the release.yml workflow when a v* tag is pushed.
Code signing policy
Free code signing provided by SignPath.io, certificate by SignPath Foundation.
Only the Windows installers (.exe and .msi) attached to GitHub Releases are signed. They are built from this repository by GitHub Actions and signed only after manual approval of each release.

This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it.
To do its job, Verso sends the following requests:
- LRCLIB (https://lrclib.net): the title, artist, album and duration of the track playing in Spotify or YouTube Music, to fetch synced lyrics.
- Verso translation server (proxy/, a Cloudflare Worker): only if the user turns on translation. The lyric lines are forwarded to Microsoft Azure Translator and the result is kept in a shared cache with no user identifiers. The client IP is used only for rate limiting, hashed, in counters that expire within two days.
No analytics or telemetry is collected.
