Run it locally

npm install
cp .env.local.example .env.local   # then fill in the three values
npm run dev                        # http://localhost:3000

The homepage's "Try the demo" opens /demo, the app on invented data that never touches the database (see docs/architecture.md). Checks: npm test (rules and helpers), npm run test:demo (crawl of the demo pages, needs npm run dev).

Until a separate development database exists, local testing writes to the live data. Pushing to main deploys to production.
