Quick start

Requirements

• Python 3.12
• Node.js 20+

Setup

# Clone

# Edit backend/.env — set LLM_PROVIDER and ANTHROPIC_API_KEY at minimum

# Edit frontend/.env — set NEXT_PUBLIC_API_BASE=http://localhost:8000

Supabase (required for auth and saved dashboards)

1. Create a Supabase project and note the project URL, service role key, and anon key.
2. Set SUPABASE_URL and SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY in backend/.env.
3. Set NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL and NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY in frontend/.env.
4. Run the SQL files in supabase/migrations/ in the Supabase SQL Editor, in date order.

Without Supabase, magic link auth and dashboard save/restore will not work.

Run locally

Visit http://localhost:3000. Three preloaded demo datasets are available on the home page — no file upload needed to try the tool.

Never commit real secrets. .env files are gitignored; .env.example files are not.

Deployment

Cloud demo

• Frontend: Vercel → https://data-intelligence.domelayer.com
• Backend: Railway (root directory: backend/) → https://api.domelayer.com
• Key gotcha: Set NEXT_PUBLIC_API_BASE to https://api.domelayer.com with no /api/v1 suffix. Railway injects PORT at runtime; the Dockerfile CMD uses ${PORT:-8000}.

Client Azure tenant

LLM_PROVIDER=azure_openai — the AzureOpenAIProvider stub exists but is not yet implemented.

Air-gapped

LLM_PROVIDER=ollama — the OllamaProvider stub exists but is not yet implemented.
