Put the game art you made on Kitpop (icons, thumbnails, UI images, textures and 3D models)
into your Roblox game from any assistant that supports MCP. Together with Roblox Studio's own MCP server you can say:
"Get my Candy Obby pack from Kitpop and set up the game icon."
These tools only read your Kitpop account and download your files. They never spend credits.
1. Get a code: on kitpop.app open Account → Connections → Kitpop Bridge → Get a code (valid 10 minutes).
2. Link this computer (type your code instead of ABC123):

npx -y kitpop-mcp link ABC123
Add Kitpop to your assistant, then restart the assistant:
| Assistant | How |
|---|---|
| Claude Code | claude mcp add kitpop -- npx -y kitpop-mcp (or install the plugin below, which includes it) |
| Claude Desktop | Settings → Developer → Edit Config, add the JSON below |
| Cursor | ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project), add the JSON below |
{
"mcpServers": {
"kitpop": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "kitpop-mcp"] }
}
}
On Windows, if npx is not found, use "command": "cmd", "args": ["/c", "npx", "-y", "kitpop-mcp"].
Connect Roblox Studio so your assistant can put the files in your game (next section).
Requires Node.js 20.15 or newer.
Roblox Studio has a built-in MCP server (Roblox docs).
claude mcp add Roblox_Studio -- cmd.exe /c %LOCALAPPDATA%\Roblox\mcp.bat
(JSON configs: "command": "cmd.exe", "args": ["/c", "%LOCALAPPDATA%\\Roblox\\mcp.bat"])claude mcp add Roblox_Studio -- /Applications/RobloxStudio.app/Contents/MacOS/StudioMCPclaude mcp add Roblox_Studio -- cmd.exe /c '%LOCALAPPDATA%\Roblox\mcp.bat',
and set KITPOP_DOWNLOAD_DIR=/mnt/c/Users/<you>/Downloads/Kitpop so Studio can see the downloaded files.The plugin adds ready-made skills and starts the Kitpop MCP server for you (link your account first, step 2 above; connect Roblox Studio yourself). In Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add diaboyy/kitpop-mcp
/plugin install kitpop-for-roblox@kitpop
| Skill | What it does |
|---|---|
game-icon-and-thumbnails | Picks the icon and 16:9 thumbnails from your pack, downloads them and tells you where they go in Game Settings |
shop-ui-from-pack | Builds a mobile-friendly shop ScreenGui from your pack's own panel, button and item images |
gamepass-icons | Uploads game pass / developer product icons and gives you the asset id list (optionally as a ModuleScript) |
logo-sign | Puts your logo on a SurfaceGui sign standing on the ground in front of the camera |
insert-3d-model | Brings a Kitpop 3D model into your place, stands it on the ground, scales and anchors it |
Every skill tells you what it will change first. Studio changes can be undone with Ctrl+Z, and the skill checks the result with a screenshot. Test them in an empty place first.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
kitpop_whoami | Linked account (masked email) and credit balance |
kitpop_list_packs | Your packs with finished images, and your 3D models |
kitpop_get_pack | Every image in a pack (group, exact category such as gamepass or badge, name, size) and the pack's 3D models |
kitpop_download_asset | Saves the full-resolution original of one image (PNG) or 3D model (GLB or FBX) and returns its path |
How it fits with Studio: kitpop_download_asset also returns uploadUrl for images, a one-time link on your own
computer (see Privacy). Studio's upload_image only takes http(s) links, so the assistant passes that link and gets
back rbxassetid://<id>. 3D models are brought in with Studio's Import 3D or with Insert in the
Kitpop Bridge plugin; the assistant then places them. Roblox allows 20,000 triangles
per mesh; for bigger models use Kitpop Bridge, which brings a simplified copy.
link saves a token in ~/.config/kitpop/credentials.json
(%APPDATA%\kitpop\ on Windows), readable only by you. You can use the KITPOP_TOKEN env instead. The token is
never printed, logged or shown to the assistant, and it is only sent to the Kitpop server that issued it.~/Downloads/Kitpop (or KITPOP_DOWNLOAD_DIR). No
analytics, no other services.uploadUrl is served on 127.0.0.1 only (not your network), works for a
single download of that one file, expires after 30 minutes, and the little file server stops when nothing is left.npx -y kitpop-mcp logout removes the token from this computer;
Account → Connections → Manage → Disconnect on kitpop.app turns it off everywhere.npx -y kitpop-mcp link <CODE> # link this computer
npx -y kitpop-mcp status # show the linked account
npx -y kitpop-mcp logout # remove the token from this computer
| Env variable | Default | |
|---|---|---|
KITPOP_TOKEN | – | Token instead of the saved file |
KITPOP_DOWNLOAD_DIR | ~/Downloads/Kitpop | Where files are saved (<dir>/<pack>/…, <dir>/models/…) |
KITPOP_API_URL | https://kitpop.app | For Kitpop development only |
npm install
npm test # builds, then runs end-to-end tests against a local mock of the Kitpop API
npm run live-check # against kitpop.app with your linked account (spends no credits)
claude --plugin-dir . # try the plugin and skills from this folder
