Getting Started
Prerequisites
- Node.js 22+
- pnpm 10+
- PostgreSQL 16+
Local Development
# Clone the repo
git clone https://github.com/truenorth-lj/openhealth.git
cd openhealth
# Install dependencies
pnpm install
# Set up environment variables
cp .env.example apps/web/.env.local
# Edit apps/web/.env.local with your DATABASE_URL and BETTER_AUTH_SECRET
# Start the dev server
pnpm dev:web

Self-Hosting
The fastest way to run Open Health is with Docker:
git clone https://github.com/truenorth-lj/openhealth.git
cd openhealth
# Start PostgreSQL + web app
docker compose up -d
# Open http://localhost:3000
That's it. The database migrations run automatically on startup.
