Penny
Penny is a personal budget app. Connect your bank and investment accounts (or
add them by hand), and it turns your transactions into a clear picture of
where your money goes — spending by category, trips, investments, and how
this month compares to your own history.

It comes preloaded with sample transactions (new ones are added each day, so
the current month is never empty), a trip, and a
reimbursement, so every page has something to look at right away. Everything
works except linking a real bank, which is turned off for this account.
What you can do
- Overview — see what you've spent, earned, and saved this month (or the
last 12), broken down by category in a chart. This month is compared
against last month, the same month last year, and projected to where it'll
land based on your own habits.
- Transactions — search and filter your activity, add one by hand, or
import a CSV from your bank. New transactions are categorized automatically.
Attach a payment someone sent you back to the expense it covered, so what
you see reflects what you actually paid.
- Trips — group travel spending together. Attach transactions to a trip
and they're filed under Travel; a friend paying you back for their share
nets against the total automatically.
- Year — every category, every month, laid out in one table.
- Investments — connect a brokerage to see your holdings, what they're
worth, and your gain or loss, plus how much you've contributed over time.
- Accounts — connect a bank, or add one by hand if it won't link. Rename
or close an account without losing its history.
