Job Candidate Portal

A comprehensive web application for candidates to discover, apply for, and track employment opportunities. Built with Next.js 15 and React 19, integrating with Frappe ERPNext for authentication, jobs, applications, onboarding, and portal configuration.

• Job Discovery: Advanced search and filtering by location, department, experience level, and tags

• Application Management: One-click applications with real-time status tracking

• Profile Management: Upload resumes, cover letters, and portfolios

• Application Tracking: Monitor application status through the complete hiring pipeline

• Social Sharing: Share job opportunities via social media and direct links

• Indian Amount Formatting: Monetary inputs include a rupee prefix and Indian digit grouping; hovering or focusing an amount reveals its value in words.

Administration

• Admin configuration and data management are handled in Frappe Desk through DocTypes, roles, permissions, and portal settings.

Architecture

The application uses Frappe ERPNext as the source of truth for candidate portal data and HR workflows.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

• Node.js 18+
• npm or yarn
• Frappe ERPNext instance (for job data)

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

git clone <repository-url>
cd candidate-portal

2. Install dependencies:

yarn install

3. Set up environment variables:

cp .env.example .env.local

Configure the following variables in .env.local:

• NEXT_PUBLIC_FRAPPE_URL
• FRAPPE_BASE_URL
• FRAPPE_API_KEY
• FRAPPE_API_SECRET
• NEXT_PUBLIC_SITE_URL

4. Start the development server:

yarn dev

Open http://localhost:3000 to view the application.

Deployment

The application can be deployed on:

• Vercel (recommended for Next.js)
• Netlify
• Any Node.js hosting platform
• Docker-compatible platforms using the included Dockerfile
