The plugin automatically generates defensive .htaccess (for Apache / LiteSpeed), web.config (for Microsoft IIS), and index.php silence files to block direct HTTP directory browsing and serves downloads through authenticated endpoints.

= How do I secure stored documents on Nginx servers? = Because Nginx does not read runtime .htaccess files, add the following location block to your site's Nginx server configuration:
