SweetEscape — A Full-Featured Music Player

SweetEscape is an original, Spotify replacement — a static, full-featured music player made entirely with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No frameworks. No backend servers. Just pure web magic.

It started as a small Glitch.com project and has since evolved into a fully functional feature packed music player — now hosted on Vercel.

About the Project

SweetEscape is a self-contained static website that:

• Stores all your songs, settings, and playlists locally using Session Storage, LocalStorage, IndexedDB and even Disk storage.
• Allows you to Search up any song you like and add it to your library
• Speedily download your favorite songs and Link them for offline playback
• Can be accessed offline due to service worker.
• Doubles as a karaoke player and lyrics transcriber.
• Tracks billboard hot-100 charts
• Is designed for speed, simplicity, and beauty — with a goal of hitting 1 million visits. (3800 visits as of 10/16/2025) (7764 visits as of 11/20/2025) (10851 visits as of 6/27/2026)

SweetEscape has a detailed versioning system following: X.0.0 → Major releases (new systems, redesigns) X.Y.0 → Medium updates (new controls/features) X.Y.Z → Small updates (bug fixes, UI tweaks)

The earliest changes may not be recorded — version tracking began after the CHANGELOG.md was introduced.
