Teslatlas

Teslatlas Hub collects vehicle telemetry, stores history locally, and synchronises it with the separately distributed Teslatlas client and with independent clients through its read API. The repository contains the Rust Hub service, a native macOS control app and interoperability fixtures. Hub runs as a standalone service with direct collection and local storage.

Distribution and candidate targets

Hub is distributed as source. GitHub binary releases and downloadable installer assets are not provided. Follow the source build guide before the Mac instructions. The Mac lane is the supported one: the GUI app with its per-user LaunchAgent on Apple-silicon macOS 13 or later (runtime verification in progress). The Debian and Docker guides are specifications until the Mac Hub is complete. Local builds do not automatically have trusted signing or notarisation.

What Hub provides

• Local SQLite-backed vehicle history and resident credential handling.
• Multiple-vehicle status for one household. No vehicle commands.
• Guided history import over SSH without modifying the source database.
• Diagnostics, health endpoints, logs, backup and recovery commands; optional encrypted backups.
• Pairing for the Teslatlas client and for independent clients of the read API.
• Optional Fleet Telemetry receiver on the Hub host.

The Mac app controls the background service. Closing the app window does not stop Hub; use its stop control when pausing collection.

First setup

1. Choose a host and build from source.
2. Follow Getting started and the host guide.
3. Configure collection or import supported vehicle history.
4. Complete diagnostics and confirm fresh activity for the intended vehicles.
5. Pair the client using the client pairing guide.
6. Create and test a recovery copy using backup and recovery.

Privacy and security

Vehicle history can contain precise locations and other sensitive information. Keep plaintext HTTP on loopback, use TLS and paired-device authentication for remote clients, and never expose the internal telemetry ingestion route. Do not post tokens, invitations, VINs, locations, or private databases in issues. Read the privacy guidance, security model, and security policy.

Licence

Teslatlas Hub is free software under the GNU AGPL version 3 only, with attribution terms under its section 7. See NOTICE, third-party notices, Corresponding Source and citation metadata.

• Use it for any purpose, including commercially.
• Apps that talk to the Hub through its API are separate programs and may use any licence. The SDKs and protocol are Apache-2.0.
• If you distribute a changed Hub, or run one for others over a network, publish your source under the same licence, keep the attribution and use your own name.
• Only the maintainer changes the official Hub, through reviewed pull requests. See CONTRIBUTING.
