We use the upptime/upptime repository for issues for all projects, including this one. If you found a bug or have a feature request, open an issue in the Upptime repository and add the label "action".

💻 Usage

When you use Upptime, we automatically add the required workflows. If you want to manually use this package, you can use npx:

Generate the README.md summary file:

npx @upptime/uptime-monitor summary

Make network requests to get the response time and commit them to git history:

npx @upptime/uptime-monitor response-time

Generate the static status website, powered by upptime/status-page:

npx @upptime/uptime-monitor site

Generate response time graphs, powered by upptime/graphs:

npx @upptime/uptime-monitor graphs

Check uptime, but don't make git commits with network requests:

npx @upptime/uptime-monitor

To add Developer Certificate of Origin sign-off trailers to commits created by Upptime, enable commitMessages.signoff in .upptimerc.yml:

commitMessages:
  signoff: true

This uses Git's native --signoff flag, so the trailer is generated from the configured commit author.

Globalping timeouts

For a site with type: globalping, set globalpingTimeout to 15, 20, or 30 seconds to select the probe's total test timeout:

This applies to Globalping HTTP, SSL and ping checks. When omitted, no timeout override is sent, preserving Globalping's existing calculated defaults. Local checks continue to use their own settings, such as requestTimeout. Invalid values fail the check with a configuration error rather than recording a site outage.

The total timeout includes DNS resolution and the rest of the test. The current Globalping HTTP probe allocates 40% of that budget to DNS: totals of 15, 20 and 30 seconds give DNS 6, 8 and 12 seconds respectively. This option does not set an independent DNS timeout or change the monitor's retry policy. See the Globalping API specification.
