and German. The reference pages under reference/ are generated from the template; the other pages are
written by hand, German pages are translations of the English ones.
npm install # once
npm run dev # local preview
npm run build # production build (checks the generated reference first)
npm run gen # regenerate the reference pages from the template
npm run check:translations # report stale German pages
npm run check:links # check the links on the further-reading pages (network)
npm run sync # plan: what a template update would change
npm run sync -- --apply # update the template state, regenerate, list pages to review
sync calls .act/scripts/update.py (pass --source <path> to use another template checkout) and ends with
the translation report.
Deploy: a GitHub Actions workflow builds and publishes on every push to main. Publishing happens only on
the owner's word.
src/content/docs/ (English, root locale) and src/content/docs/de/ (German,
same relative path). Frontmatter: title, description, sidebar.order.sidebar in astro.config.mjs, one autogenerate directory per group. A new page is a new
file in a group folder; a new group is a new folder plus an entry there with a German label
(translations.de).src/content/docs/index.mdx (and de/index.mdx).scripts/gen-reference.mjs, then npm run gen. Each page
names the template commit it comes from (template.commit in .act-lock.json, linked to GitHub) — sync takes the
tip of the template's main, not the last release, so the release number is never shown. Without a commit the
generator stops instead of writing a placeholder.src/translations/de/reference/<page>.md: one ## <id> section per entry
with <!-- source: <hash> --> of its English text. npm run translations:skeleton adds entries for new ids
(English text, marked <!-- todo: translate -->, never overwriting); translate the text, remove the marker, run
npm run gen. A missing, todo or stale entry shows the English text with "(noch nicht übersetzt)".
npm run check:translations lists them per page (and orphans); after reviewing stale entries,
node scripts/check-translations.mjs --stamp-catalog <page> stamps all non-todo entries of that page.
Commands, keys, ids, code and --help output are never in the catalog.npm run check:translations lists the stale German page; after updating it,
run node scripts/check-translations.mjs --stamp <de-file>.docs/project/german-glossary.md.npm run dev (http://localhost:4321/agentic-coding-template-docs/), check with npm run build. A dev
server left running across a sync can keep serving old pages from its content cache: stop it and start it again;
if it still shows old text, delete .astro/data-store.json first.astro.config.mjs, see the Starlight docs.
