Your whole day, in one calm place, and nobody else's business.
Ember is a planner that brings your tasks, calendar, habits, notes
and time together, so you stop jumping between five apps to run one life. It
works the way you think, it looks after your focus, and it keeps everything
you put into it private: your planner lives with you, not on our servers.
Available for Windows, macOS and Linux.Read the full README ↗Your whole day, in one calm place, and nobody else's business.

The Dashboard is today on one page: a greeting, your day laid out on a single timeline, what's due, what's slipped, the routines to tick off, and a scratch pad for the thought you don't want to lose. A small planet travels round its orbit as the day gets done.
See your week or month at a glance. Drag down any empty stretch of time to plan a task there, just like Google Calendar. Time you actually spent working is drawn right beside what you planned, so your calendar tells the truth about your day.
Every task opens into a full detail panel: dates and times, due dates, priority, tags, subtasks, linked tasks, files, time estimates, comments, documents and a complete history of every change.
Rename and recolour your board's lanes, switch off the parts of a task you never use, turn subtasks into full tasks of their own, and create custom fields such as client, budget, rating or progress. Your planner, arranged your way.
Build routines for anything that repeats, tick off the days you did them, and watch your streak grow. Missed a day? Doing it on a day off makes up for it, because real life doesn't run on a fixed schedule.
Capture notes, turn a line into a task in one click, and write proper documents (headings, checklists, tables, images) in an editor that looks like the finished page. Documents are plain Markdown files, so they're yours to keep and move anywhere.
Press Start on any task and a timer counts against your estimate. The desktop app's floating timer stays on top of every other window, so you stay focused while you work.
Get a nudge before tasks and routines start, one daily summary of anything overdue, and quiet hours when nothing gets through. In the desktop app, reminders arrive even when the planner's window is closed.
Most apps keep your data on their servers. Ember doesn't have any.
| Desktop app | Windows, macOS and Linux. Installs in a minute and updates itself. |
| In your browser | The same planner, no install needed. |
| Offline | Planning doesn't need an internet connection. Only Google features do. |
A short setup gets you going: your name, the parts of life you plan for, the routines you already keep, and how you'd like to be reminded. Your first day can be planned before your coffee cools.
