To try changes of gen-vis, its checkout at ../../gen-vis (next to the energy folder) is linked with npm run link-gen-vis, with npm run watch in gen-vis the dev server takes its changes. npm run unlink-gen-vis installs the version of package.json again, npm run check and so a deploy fail while it is linked.
The build (npm run build) also writes an html file for each page, e.g. collection/gas.html for /collection/gas. Each file has the page's title, description, canonical url, and its text and chart titles for search engines, plus sitemap.xml and robots.txt, see build/pages.js and assets/.htaccess.
The charts are gen-vis definitions in data/, their id is the path without .json, e.g. gas/price. The CSVs are written by the export scripts of the explore repository and are not part of this repository.
