Read the full README ↗The definition of the word exceptionless is: to be without exception. Exceptionless provides real-time error reporting for your JavaScript, Node, .NET Core, ASP.NET, Web API, WebForms, WPF, Console, and MVC apps. It organizes the gathered information into simple actionable data that will help your app become exceptionless!
⭐️ We appreciate your star, it helps!
Refer to the Exceptionless documentation.
We provide very reasonably priced hosting at Exceptionless. By using our hosted service, you are supporting the project and helping it get better! We also provide set up and support services.
Exceptionless can easily be run locally using Docker:
docker run --rm -it -p 7110:8080 exceptionless/exceptionless:latesthttp://localhost:7110This will run a completely self-contained simple instance of Exceptionless. It is only suitable for testing purposes since it will not persist data. For more complete setups, check out the self hosting documentation. Also, if you want to support the project while self hosting you can send us a pull request or donation.
In appreciation for anyone who submits a non-trivial pull request, we will give you a free Exceptionless paid plan for a year. After your pull request is accepted, simply send an email to [email protected] with the name of your organization and we will upgrade you to a paid plan.
Start here:
Aspire launch configuration.Exceptionless.slnx, set Exceptionless.AppHost as the startup project, and run it.aspire run from the repo root. After startup:
https://web-ex.dev.localhost:7131/ if a browser does not open automatically. If Aspire assigns a dynamic port, use the App endpoint shown in its dashboard.Development mode, a global administrator user [email protected] with password tester is created automatically.Notes:
Exceptionless.AppHost starts the app and required infrastructure together.aspire update --self to update). The AppHost uses the CLI bundle for the dashboard and resource orchestrator; when no CLI is installed, the SDK downloads the matching version through DNX.The Svelte 5 UI in src/Exceptionless.Web/ClientApp is the only application frontend and serves at /. Aspire starts Svelte together with the API. Primary hash-route bookmarks resolve to the current pages, and existing signed-in sessions are retained.
See the frontend README for development, build, and test commands. Published app images contain the Svelte build at the web root; API-only images retain their API landing page.
For a quick API walkthrough, start with exceptionless.http. The tests/http folder contains additional examples for manual use, such as querying events, uploading source maps, and obtaining OAuth tokens. These are curated examples, not an automated test suite or an exhaustive endpoint catalog. Set the local API URL and sample variables, then run the requests you need. In Visual Studio Code, use the REST Client extension.
Thanks to all the people who have contributed!
Thanks to JetBrains for a community WebStorm and ReSharper license to use on this project. It's the best JavaScript IDE/Visual Studio productivity enhancement hands down.
Thanks to Red Gate for providing an open source license for a .NET Developer Bundle. It's an indispensable tool when you need to track down a performance/memory issue.
