Four Realms
Four radio apps in one: 🎃 Halloween, 🌆 Synth, 🌙 Pagan and ⛧ Kvlt. Each realm keeps its own look, stations and extras, and one player keeps the music going while you move between them. Listen on your phone, or cast to Google Nest speakers and speaker groups.
▶ Open the app: https://cc666debug.github.io/four-realms/
The four realms are also their own apps: Halloween Caster, Synth Caster, Pagan Caster and Kvlt Kaster.
Moving between realms
- Title screen. Four doors greet you when you open the app after six hours or more away.
- Tabs along the bottom: one tap to any realm. A small dot marks the realm that's playing.
- Swipe sideways to flip to the next realm.
- Portal. Tap the realm's name at the top for a ring of four doors.
The realms
- 🎃 Halloween: every free Halloween Radio channel first, then 20 more Halloween stations (horror, psychobilly, old-time radio and more), with a countdown to Halloween. Halloween Radio's channels show the song's cover art, with links to 👻 Bewitch and 🦴 Spine-Tingler. The 📶 Stream button lists every link for a channel (new server first, old server as backup, smaller versions to save data); the best one plays unless you pick another, and a dead link falls back to the next one. Supporters can add ⭐ Phantom (once called Premium): the link stays on your phone only, and it's shared with Halloween Caster on the same phone.
- 🌆 Synth: hundreds of synthwave, darkwave, goth, EBM, synth-pop, new wave and chiptune stations.
- 🌙 Pagan: pagan, Wiccan, Norse, Celtic and medieval folk, with the moon phase and the next sabbat.
- ⛧ Kvlt: black metal and its neighbours, with the moon phase and the next unholy date.
What it does
- Search, genre filters and sorting in each realm; each realm remembers its own.
- Shuffle, next and previous stay in the realm that's playing, even while you browse another.
- Song names for stations marked ♪, on screen and on your lock screen, with a time bar showing how far into the song it is when the station says (tap the time to switch between elapsed, remaining, or both).
- Favorites. Tap ☆ on any station.
- Saved songs. Tap 🤍 while a song plays to keep it, then find it later on YouTube, YouTube Music or Spotify. Back it up to a folder once and every save or removal is copied there by itself, in a list file of this device's own (phone, tablet or PC), so devices sharing a synced folder never overwrite each other.
- Share the app with the button at the bottom.
- Cast to speakers with the cast button (Chrome on Android or a computer).
- Keeps playing through drop-outs, and opens instantly, even offline, once added to your home screen.
