ember

a black-and-white omarchy theme with one orange accent.

pure black, pure white and #d97757. almost nothing else gets a color. window borders, the bar and the keywords in your editor all burn the same quiet orange. a soft glow in the bottom-right corner, thin lines, a little grain.

there is a light twin: ember-light.

install

omarchy theme install https://github.com/gloomyweather/omarchy-ember-theme
omarchy theme install https://github.com/gloomyweather/omarchy-ember-light-theme # optional

then pick it in the omarchy menu (style → theme), or run omarchy theme set ember. omarchy theme update pulls new versions later.

what's inside

• colors.toml. omarchy builds the terminal, hyprland, bar, neovim, btop and the rest from it.
• twelve wallpapers, 1920×1080, in backgrounds/. switch them in style → background.
• an orange boot and unlock logo. turn it on in style → unlock.
• yaru-dark icons.

palette

background #000000 foreground #ffffff
accent #d97757 muted #737373
surface #171717 selection #333333
border #262626 active #d97757

the ansi colors stay in the same family: orange, a warm yellow, light grays. red and green are kept, muted, so diffs still read as diffs.

wallpapers

1 glow light rising from the corner
2 ring one thin orange circle
3 horizon a line and the light under it
4 plutarch "the mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled."
5 sparks embers drifting up from the corner
6 ripples rings spreading from the corner
 7 contours topographic lines
8 sun a striped half-sun on the horizon
9 grid a quiet dot grid, one orange point
10 ampersand a giant lora italic &
11 herrick "a spark neglected makes a mighty fire."
12 ember "тихо горит — долго горит." (burns quietly, burns long)

ember-walls.sh redraws 5–11 from scratch, for both themes:

./ember-walls.sh dark ~/ember-walls
./ember-walls.sh light ~/ember-walls

it needs imagemagick 7 and the lora font. set LORA_DIR if lora isn't in ~/.local/share/fonts/Lora.
