kidAR Studio

kidAR Studio is a self-serve WebAR builder for children's drawings. It turns an uploaded drawing into a marker-based AR page, QR code, and print-ready A4 PDF.

Repository layout

• apps/web — Next.js App Router marketing site, creator dashboard, studio, auth, API routes, and static AR page routes.
• apps/worker — Linux worker (Hetzner CX23 / Docker Compose) for the asynchronous publish pipeline.
• packages/core — shared types, quota/settings/slug logic, MindAR/popout validation, and M4.4a local AR/print generators (renderArPage, QR, A4 PDF). Public publishing / consumer routes are M4.4b+.
• APPWRITE.md — authoritative Appwrite setup, scopes, and environment roles.

Local setup

1. Install Node 22+ and pnpm 10+.
2. Complete the one-time Console bootstrap in APPWRITE.md (platform, magic URL, API key).
3. Copy .env.example to .env.local and apps/web/.env.local, then set APPWRITE_API_KEY and confirm the project ID.
4. Run pnpm install.
5. Run pnpm appwrite:setup (idempotent schema/bucket provisioning).
6. Run pnpm dev.

Auth uses Appwrite magic URL email. Local E2E signs in through /api/auth/e2e-session with the API key (no Mailpit required). Supabase is historical only and is not part of local setup.

Linux fixture validation passed in the worker Docker image for the tracked real-photo fixture. The Pop-out stage produced a 363,156-byte optimized GLB, and the MindAR stage produced a 231,205-byte targets.mind file. Public artifact publishing and consumer AR delivery remain unimplemented pending R2 configuration and M4.4b. See apps/worker/README.md.

No paid AI service is required or called by default. The optional AI provider is disabled unless an explicit API key is configured.
