Inspired by nunomaduro/essentials, but configured differently: instead of an opt-out disabled array, each default here is a class that decides for itself whether it applies (via enabled()), is listed explicitly in an opt-in configurables array, and can be registered at runtime with Essentials::extend() — so other packages can ship their own defaults without the consuming app touching config at all.
You can install the package via Composer:

[!TIP] Let your AI agent do the hard parts. This package ships a Laravel Boost skill,
laravel-essentials-development, that teaches your agent how to install, configure and use Laravel Essentials. Install Boost and select the skill when prompted:composer require laravel/boost --dev php artisan boost:installAlready using Boost? Run
php artisan boost:update --discoverto pick up the skill. Then just ask, for example: "Install Laravel Essentials and turn on strict models and forced HTTPS in production."
Once installed, Laravel Essentials applies a set of sensible defaults automatically — no code required:
// Model::shouldBeStrict(), URL::forceHttps(), Date::use(CarbonImmutable::class), and more.
See the documentation for the full list of defaults and how to enable or disable them.
