Leeway: a deadline-aware study planner that plans your days around the hours you have. Vibe-coded with Claude.

Built for Mandatory Assignment 3: Vibe Coding (approach A: solve an everyday problem).

Most to-do apps know when things are due, but not how long they take or how much time you have. So everything looks fine until three deadlines land in the same week. Leeway answers one question: how much leeway do I have before each deadline?
Everything is scheduled in 15-minute units, in js/planner.js (pure functions, no DOM, unit-tested in Node).
The whole app was vibe-coded with Claude (Opus 5.5) in the Claude app, which wrote, ran and tested the code in a sandbox.
The first two messages were all it took to get a working app; the rest was review and follow-up.
"[pasted the full assignment text] do you have any ideas what would be a good solution here?"
Claude suggested four ideas: an idle-game economy balancer, a deadline-aware study planner, an expense splitter and a live departure board.
"Please go for the study planner and make it really good and do every step of the assignment, test it, improve, etc. make the demo link on vibeoff.ai and make the github code on my AlpacaQQ github account in a repo and a short desc."
"Read through the whole assignment again see if you missed anything and improve if possible."
The second pass added the walkthrough video and GIF, automated test runs on GitHub (CI), npm test, and this section.
| Check | Tool | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Planner unit tests (17), incl. a 40-assignment randomized stress test | node --test | all pass |
| End-to-end tests (15): forms, validation, plan, log time, focus timer with a fake clock, undo, settings, calendar export, backup/import, XSS, mobile layout | Playwright | all pass |
| Accessibility audit, all 5 views, light and dark | axe-core (WCAG 2 A/AA) | 0 violations |
| Visual review | Screenshots at 1280 px and 390 px, light and dark | reviewed every view |
| Continuous integration | GitHub Actions on every push | unit + end-to-end |

< vs <=). Caught by a unit test.No build step. Any static server works:
python3 -m http.server 8000
# open http://localhost:8000
Run the tests:
npm test # 17 unit tests for the planning engine (Node 18+)
pip install playwright && python -m playwright install chromium
npm run test:e2e # 15 end-to-end tests in a real browser
Both suites also run automatically on GitHub for every push (see the Tests badge above).
