A Chromium web browser with Lumio AI built in. Lumio sits in a side panel next to the page. Ask it anything, or tell it what to do: it reads and operates web pages, and with your permission it controls your computer too. It asks before it acts.

Lumio sits in a side panel next to the page. Ask it anything, or tell it what to do: it reads and operates web pages, and opens the web versions of apps like Excel, Word or Google Sheets in a tab. It works only inside the browser, and asks before it acts.

Mac: open the .dmg and drag Lumio Browser to Applications. It's signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other app (macOS asks once to confirm an app from the internet).
Lumio Browser is Mac only for now; copies already installed on Windows stay on 0.6.7.
Requires Node 22+ and, for the Mac helper (Touch ID), Xcode command-line tools.
npm install

npm run test:e2e # end-to-end tests (drive the real app)
npm run install:app # build and install /Applications/Lumio Browser.app
npm run release # dist/release: Mac DMGs (Apple silicon, Intel) and a Windows ZIP
WebContentsView, and each window has one shell page (renderer/ui) and one AI controller.main/ai holds the agent loop, the approval policy and the browser tools. The AI works only inside Lumio's tabs: the server offers no tools that act outside the browser, and for desktop apps the AI uses their web versions in a tab.main/account.js uses the lumio-co.online desktop sign-in hand-off. main/ai/lumio.js runs the AI through the account's plan (/api/browser/agent); the server owns the model, the tool definitions and the system prompt.main/passwords.js and main/password-manager.js, plus the isolated preload in preload/internal.js. Each password is encrypted with Electron safeStorage. On the Mac, Touch ID goes through a small native helper (native/LumioHelper).main/autofill.js and main/autofill-store.js (addresses, cards and form entries, encrypted with safeStorage), the session preload preload/autofill.js that finds form fields, and renderer/ui/overlay-autofill.js for the dropdown and the save bubble. Passkeys sync end-to-end encrypted through Lumio Sync; security keys use Chromium's own WebAuthn.main/ai/indicators.js (page glow and Stop bar). main/ai/tools/plan.js is the Task progress checklist.main/updater.js checks GitHub Releases, verifies the installer's SHA-256 and swaps the app in after it quits.main/extensions-ui.js runs the puzzle-piece menu, pinned buttons, shortcuts and new tab page override; main/extension-access.js limits site access; main/extension-shims.js fills API gaps (see docs/extensions-support.md).main/help.js (Report an issue, which posts to the server's /api/feedback; lumio://version and lumio://flags-lite), main/menu-extras.js (Chrome's Mac menus), main/devtools.js (docking) and main/mac-integration.js (Handoff, Look Up).
