Install someone's judgment.
A mentorfile is a skill for Claude Code and Codex, distilled from how one person actually works with AI: what they corrected, what they rejected, what they kept insisting on. Find someone who's solved your kind of problem at mentorfile.com, install their mentorfile, and ask it to look at your plan.
Works on macOS and Linux, and on Windows through Git Bash, which Claude Code on Windows already uses. Codex on Windows needs Git for Windows installed. The plugin needs only bash and curl; see the CLI docs.Read the full README ↗Install someone's judgment.

/mentorfile:find <what you're working on> searches mentorfile.com./mentorfile:get <handle> installs it as the skill ask-<handle>. Paid ones send you to checkout first. /mentorfile:get with no handle updates everything you have./ask-<handle> (or $ask-<handle> in Codex) to review a plan, diff or decision. Answers start with "Simulated <handle>", cite the principle behind each point, and say so when that person's sessions don't cover the question. One command: /mentorfile:mine.

Each finding keeps its context when it matters (prototype or mature product, deadline pressure, how much risk was acceptable). A principle that only holds in some situations says so, opposite calls in different situations are both kept, and a mentorfile asks about your context before answering when the answer depends on it.
What becomes a rule:
Before anything is published, a leak scan checks the result for:
Both lists live in plugins/mentorfile/skills/mine/SKILL.md (Step 2 and Step 6). Think it should look for something else, or catch another kind of leak? Open an issue or a pull request.
Is one person's judgment worth more than the "average senior" a model gives you for free? Each mentorfile can answer that with its owner's data:
The profile shows a verdict against each baseline (ahead, behind, or a tie within the paired 95% margin), and "early signal" when there are fewer than 20 cases. The first one, @leog, lost at first: the plain model matched more real corrections, because the mentorfile kept applying its loudest principle. After principles learned when they apply, it scores about the same as a generic "senior engineer" prompt and slightly above the plain model, within a margin of about ±3 points: a tie on 22 cases. The story.
bash plugins/mentorfile/tests/mf.test.sh: offline checks for the CLI (extraction, hold-out, handle validation). CI runs them on Linux and on macOS's bash 3.2.claude plugin eval plugins/mentorfile --scaffold --allow-tools Bash Write Edit: plugin evals that mine fixture transcripts and check that the result finds a planted habit, leaks neither a planted client name nor a secret, drops a one-off fix, keeps a rule stated once, and retires an old rule when newer sessions reverse it. Nothing is uploaded until the leak scan is clean and you say yes. The CLI docs list every command and exactly what it sends.
Distilly (formerly Colleague Skill) got there first: it distills a person's experience, judgment and voice into an Agent Skill from messages, documents and public sources, for colleagues, mentors, public figures or yourself. mentorfile takes a narrower path: only your own engineering judgment, mined from your own AI coding sessions, published by you, with a held-out score on how well it predicts your calls.
