Rho MD for Codex and Claude Code
Let your AI coding tool use Rho MD, the Markdown reader and notebook on your
computer: open a Markdown file — or a report it just wrote — so you can read it rendered, read and
edit the document you have open, search, tag, move and index the notes in your Rho MD library, and
export to PDF or Word.
• Rho MD 1.4.15 or later, installed and running on the same computer (download).
Rho MD 1.4.15 is available for Windows and Linux; the Mac version follows.

Then ask, for example: "Open the report you just wrote in Rho MD".
The plugin's skill runs Rho MD commands through a small client script (node, with bash and
PowerShell fallbacks) that reads Rho MD's agent-connect.json (the local port and a key that changes
every time the app starts) and talks to the app over a local connection on 127.0.0.1; nothing from your
library goes over the internet. Rho Cloud search is read-only, reaches published documents only, and
sends the search words to rho.md (privacy policy §5d). Asked to start Rho MD, it opens the rho:// link. The plugin's own
README lists everything it runs, reads and connects to.
