An auntie at a kitchen table reads the 1909 Rider–Waite deck, and every reading is lucky: she finds the good even in Death and the Tower. Each card brings a small omen for today. How it works

1. The table. A checked oilcloth, a candle and a glass of tea. Shake the phone (or rub the deck) to shuffle, then cut it towards yourself.
2. No bad cards. All 78 cards have an upright meaning and an upside-down one. Upside down means the worst is already behind you. The frightening cards (Death, the Tower, the Ten of Swords…) get the Auntie's most comforting words.
3. Omens. Every card brings a small, concrete thing to notice today: someone holds a door for you, green lights all the way. 936 of them.
4. “Well, did it come true?” In the evening she asks. Yes: one line about how, and it goes into the box. Not yet: “then it’s saving up, tomorrow twice over”.
5. The box. Everything that came true, with your lines. On a hard day, ask her to read you three things that already happened.
6. A deck that wears. Cards that come true get soft corners, a crease, a tea ring. The one that comes true most falls a little more often.
7. Spreads. Card of the day, a question (“yes, and here’s how”), for the road, for a meeting, the lucky cross, the week, and a reading for a friend sent as a postcard. At Christmastide, Midsummer and on your birthday there are spreads of their own.

Under the hood

• Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Room, DataStore, WorkManager. Everything stays on the phone.
• The deck is the Rider–Waite–Smith of 1909, pictures by Pamela Colman Smith, public domain (scans via mixvlad/TarotCards). tools/cards.py paints out the English captions; the app letters them in the reader's language.
• The Auntie and the table are drawn in code. Texts live in app/src/main/assets/*.tsv; tools/check_texts.py checks them.
• ./gradlew assembleDebug -Pdemo builds a demo with six weeks of history.
