By default, all available components for your platform are installed. Use flags to install only what you need:
# Server only (Linux)
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/elyxlz/vesta/master/install.sh | bash -s -- --server
# Desktop app only
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/elyxlz/vesta/master/install.sh | bash -s -- --app
# Specific version
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/elyxlz/vesta/master/install.sh | bash -s -- --version=0.1.112
Windows installs the desktop app:

vestad
On first run, vestad installs a systemd user service, starts itself, and prints the host URL and API key. It runs persistently via systemd (survives logout). A Cloudflare tunnel is set up automatically for remote access.
vestad status # show service status
vestad logs # stream service logs
vestad restart # restart the service
vestad stop # stop the service
Use vestad serve --standalone to run in the foreground without systemd (for CI/development). Use --no-tunnel to disable the Cloudflare tunnel.
Two settings choose where vestad keeps its heavy data. Set them before the first vestad run:
vestad docker-socket set unix:///run/docker-second.sock # a separate Docker daemon, e.g. one on another disk
vestad backup-dir set /mnt/disk2/vesta-backups # keep backups on another disk (the directory must exist)
Both are stored in settings.json in the config dir. show prints the value in effect and reset goes back to the default. Later changes restart the service. docker-socket refuses while agents exist, and backup-dir refuses while backups remain at the old location and prints the command that moves them.
Copy the connect link from the server output, then reach your agent one of three ways:
/app).Open an issue, or email [email protected].
