| Package | What it is |
|---|---|
packages/catalog-concierge | The product. A chat assistant that answers customer questions from a store's own catalogue and specifications. Any catalogue, any OpenAI-compatible model, two methods to integrate. |
apps/zy-commerce | The showcase. A multi-tenant e-commerce platform that hosts two independent demo stores, both served by the assistant above. |
| Store | Catalogue | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Selkirk Demo | 192 pickleball products, MYR | https://zy-commerce-demo.vercel.app |
| Nike Demo | 104 basketball products, USD | https://zy-commerce-nike.vercel.app |
Both run the same assistant code against completely different catalogues, currencies and product types. That is the point: nothing about it is specific to one industry.
Both stores are demonstrations, not shops. Nothing on them is for sale and no order can be placed. They are built from publicly available catalogue data and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the brands shown; product names, images and specifications remain the property of their owners. Neither store is search-indexed.
Try asking either store something real, such as "I'm a beginner, what should I get under 400?", then try something unrelated like "what's the weather?" — the second is refused in code before any model call, so it costs nothing.
Most shop chatbots either recite a scripted FAQ or hallucinate product details. This one:

pnpm install
pnpm up # starts the demo platform: Postgres in Docker, migrations, seed, dev server
pnpm check # lint + typecheck + every test that does not need a browser
| Command | What it runs | Needs |
|---|---|---|
pnpm test | The assistant package (logic in Node, widget in jsdom) and the app's unit and component suites | nothing |
pnpm test:integration | The app against real Postgres: tenant isolation, the catalogue adapter, the logo storage sequence | Docker |
pnpm test:coverage | Every suite, failing if coverage drops below the floor | Docker |
pnpm --filter zy-commerce test:e2e | Chromium against the app, including a real logo upload to Vercel Blob | Docker; reuses a running server locally |
pnpm --filter zy-commerce db:drift | Fails if schema.prisma changed without a migration | Docker |
pnpm --filter catalog-concierge test:pack | Packs the assistant and installs it into an empty project, as a client would | network |
main. Direct pushes to main are blocked for everyone, admins included..github/workflows/ci.yml): lint for code and for the workflows themselves, typecheck, the package install test, every test suite held to its coverage floor, a migration-drift check, the seed run twice (production re-runs it on every deploy, so the second run must change nothing), a production build, and end-to-end tests in Chromium against that build. The one required check, CI passed, turns green only if all of it did.main and nothing else: preview deployments are switched off, so unmerged code never runs against the live database..github/workflows/deploy-verify.yml). When Vercel reports the production deployment ready, a workflow waits until every live hostname reports the new commit from /api/health, then runs read-only browser checks against the live site.If those live checks fail, roll back in the Vercel dashboard (Deployments → the previous production deployment → Instant Rollback) and fix forward through a pull request.
Decisions taken along the way are logged in docs/DECISIONS.md; the original build specification for the commerce app is in docs/.
