How this game was made. Orb Combat EX is a one-person project: Orb directs it and builds it with AI tools. AI tools wrote the game's code and drafted its art, animation data, dialogue, UI text and design documents. Nothing in the game is generated by AI while you play: its procedural systems (planets, fight choreography, the computer-controlled opponent) are ordinary code, not AI models. Orb directs the project, makes the creative decisions, and tests and plays the game. No part of this game is described as human-made unless this page says so.
Every fighter, move and planet here is original. Licence: not chosen yet, so all rights are reserved for now. Please do not copy or redistribute this code or content until a licence is added. The hosted build is offline for now while its flashing effects are fixed (see below); when it returns you may play it. "Meridian" is the team's internal codename.
Flashing effects. This game contains flashing effects. Our own automated check has found some scenes, such as a camera fly-past of collapsing buildings and some beam impacts, that flash more often than the recommended limit of three times a second. We are fixing them. The "Reduced motion" setting (pause menu, Settings) changes a few effects but does not fix these scenes. No independent photosensitivity analyser has been run. If you or someone in your family has photosensitive epilepsy, we recommend not playing this version.
Privacy. This game collects and sends no personal data. The web version is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps its own server logs. The feedback button copies a report to your clipboard for you to paste to Orb; nothing is sent by the game.
