Single-file app, locked with one shared team passcode (entered once per device; "Change passcode" and "Lock all devices" are in the sidebar).
sw.js) keeps the app itself, so with no internet Sync Up still opens -- read-only, with an "Offline · as of …" banner. Only on devices unlocked before; the copy is dropped after 7 days offline or when the device is lockedscripts/backup.mjs saves everything on the board -- both people's open and done tasks (with notes and photos), sticky notes, notepads, and today's Daily Review -- into one Word doc in ~/Documents/Sync Up Backups/. A launchd job on Mary's Mac (scripts/com.columbiacabinets.syncup-backup.plist, installed in ~/Library/LaunchAgents/) runs it at 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday; if the Mac is asleep then, it runs once on wake, and if it was shut down, the missed backup is made at the next startup/login (--catch-up). Log: ~/Library/Logs/Sync Up Backup.log. It reads with the service-role key saved in ~/.config/sync-up/service-key (private to Mary's Mac account). Run it by hand any time with node scripts/backup.mjs.
Sarah can add tasks straight from a Claude chat -- e.g. "add a task for Mary to follow up with Adria about the template" -- without opening the app. This works via a small custom Claude connector (a remote MCP server at /api/mcp, deployed alongside the app on Vercel) that can add and list tasks on the same shared board.
To set it up in Claude (one-time, per person who wants to use it):
https://daily-sync-woad.vercel.app/api/mcp?key=<connector key>. The connector key is Vercel's MCP_KEY environment variable (Mary has a private copy in ~/.config/sync-up/mcp-key); without it the connector refuses requests.SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY (also a Vercel environment variable), since the database only lets the signed-in team login in.Once added, just ask Claude in chat to add, or list, a task and it'll show up live on the board.
